u.s. flag Edward “Doc” Regan, 76, passed away on October 22, 2024, in Johnston, RI. Born on May 26, 1948, Ed was known for his dynamic personality and zest for life.

He proudly served as an Army Medic in Vietnam, a role that shaped much of his early professional life. Following his military service, Ed briefly served as a police officer in North Kingstown before dedicating 17 years as an Emergency Room Technician at Kent Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital. His career took a significant turn at age 38 when he ventured into the field of computers, eventually retiring as a well-respected Systems Analyst Consultant.

Ed was a graduate of Thomas More School in New Hampshire and held bachelor degrees from Marquette University and the University of Rhode Island, as well as an associate degree from New England Tech.

An avid outdoorsman, Ed's passions included whitewater rafting, skiing, and camping. He was also a gifted cook, known especially for his legendary mashed potatoes. His love for rafting was not just a hobby but a way of life that he enthusiastically shared with everyone he met, often converting the uninitiated into rafting enthusiasts by the end of a conversation. As a Boy Scout, Ed cherished his summers at Camp Yawgoog and later served as a Camp Master, along with his friend, Bob.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Debra; brothers, Geoffrey Regan and Terrence Regan (Virginia); brother-in-law, Michael Scanlon (June); sisters-in-law, Joy Starnino, Mary Kennedy, and Lynn Siegel; his best friend, Bob Boisclair; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anastasia Regan, and his sister, Stephanie Regan.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence.
